IOC President honours HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of United Arab Emirates Nation

The IOC President’s Trophy has been awarded to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of United Arab Emirates Nation.

IOC President Dr Jacques Rogge said that the Trophy was awarded to Her Highness for outstanding merit in the development of sport, notably her dedication to the advancement of women in sport.
 
Her Highness serves as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and has inspired the launch of an annual international award for female athletes in her name as part of a series of initiatives to promote and develop the cause of women in sport.
