With five Olympic gold medals to his name, and the 4x100m relay still to come, Bolt and training partners Yohan Blake and Warren Weir achieved a clean sweep of medals for the Racers Track Club based in Kingston, Jamaica. Bolt commented: “Just epic. Congrats to Yohan & Warren on allowing me 2 share such moment with teammates.” “Racers track club and Jamaica just did a little housekeeping tonight-clean sweep!!” joked Blake. Despite finishing second to his teammate in both 100m and 200m finals, he told Bolt: “It is your time...I am honoured!! You know I have nothing but love”
22-year-old Weir ran a personal best of 19.84 seconds to secure his first Olympic medal and join an ever-growing club of elite Jamaican sprinters. “We did it” he tweeted, adding: “Today a boy became a MAN”
Bolt, Blake and Weir were all quick to show their appreciation to their coach Glen Mills. “Coach Mills for national hero!! Usain is a legend but our coach is a HERO!!” exclaimed Blake.
