As the countdown drops to double digits, Ambassadors Chad le Clos and Michelle Wie celebrate 100 days until the Youth Olympic Games in true YOG style.
After making a splash at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games, where he claimed an impressive five medals, Chad used this experience and focused on the Olympic Games, where he became Olympic champion in the 200m butterfly, taking the crown from fellow Youth Olympic Games Ambassador Michael Phelps. Chad is now ready to pass on this experience to inspire all the budding young athletes to aim for success, and to cheer on all the athletes on the road to Nanjing 2014 and beyond!
USA golf sensation Michelle Wie has put her full swing behind the Games from the beginning as a big supporter of golf on the Olympic programme. Michelle is super excited to count down the final 100 days until golf makes its debut at Nanjing 2014: “I’m hoping to teach young people to have fun with their game, to be competitive, to really want something and to realise the importance of having a dream.”
This has been a big week for jet-setting mascot NANJINGLELE too, as he goes from lighting the Youth Olympic flame a few days ago in Athens, Greece, to now travelling through cyber-space around the world with the Virtual Torch Relay. Celebrate with him on 100 days-to-go by becoming a torch bearer too. Visit www.nanjing2014.org to download the app.
Stay tuned for more updates as the Youth Olympic Games approach!
The countdown is on to 16 August!
