24 January - 09 March 2014
The Russian city of Sochi, on the Black Sea, will be hosting the 2014 Winter Olympic Games from 7 to 23 February.
This exhibition reveals the specificities of this 22nd Winter Games and the Olympic icons, including the torch, medals, mascots, emblem and pictograms.
This unique concept, known as the “Look of the Games”, is a “patchwork" of crafts from fourteen regions in Russia. This visual identity will be seen across the city, in the stadiums and on souvenirs.
The exhibition also follows the route of the 123-day-long torch relay - the longest relay in the history of the Winter Games. But also presents the twelve new events making their debut at the Sochi Games - freeskiing halfpipe (men and women), women’s ski jumping, biathlon mixed relay, luge team relay, figure skating mixed team event, snowboard parallel special slalom (men and women), and slopestyle skiing and snowboarding (men and women) - as well as the competition venues, including the Olympic Park with the Iceberg Skating Palace and the Bolshoi Ice Dome.
