Broadcasting the Olympics
Television coverage of the Olympics has come a long way, from the first TV broadcast of the Olympics to 25 special viewing rooms in and around Berlin in 1936 to the worldwide media attention that will be focused on the 2014 Sochi Games. “Broadcasting the Olympics” looks at the constantly increasing resources deployed by broadcasters to provide coverage of the Games. New technology is giving us ever more instantaneous access to information. Competitions are now broadcast in real time via TV coverage and also on the internet and through social media. What new developments can we look forward to in the future?
