Sports career
Participated in two editions of the Games of the Olympiad: double gold medallist (100m and 200m) and silver medallist (4 x 100m relay), Munich 1972; double bronze medallist (100m and 4 x 100m relay), Montreal 1976

President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine (1991-1998); Vice-President of the NOC of Ukraine (2006-); Member of the Council of the European Athletics Association (EAA) (1991-1999); President of the Ukrainian Athletic Federation (1996-2012)
