Olympic finalist at the Games of the XVII Olympiad in Rome in 1960 (100m freestyle [6th] and 4 x 100 m medley relay [4th]); gold medallist in 110 yards freestyle and silver medallist in 440 yards freestyle relay and in 880 yards freestyle relay at the 1962 Commonwealth Games; bronze medallist in 440 yards medley relay; Canadian Champion freestyle (1958, 1960, 1961, 1962) and butterfly (1961)
