Sports career
Participated in three editions of the Olympic Winter Games (Oslo 1952, Cortina d’Ampezzo 1956 and Squaw Valley 1960); silver medal in slalom at the VII Olympic Winter Games in Cortina d’Ampezzo in 1956; won several Japanese and US national skiing championships as well as many other international competitions
