The mission of the Image Section is to acquire, restore, conserve and promote the IOC’s photographic, audiovisual and audio fonds for future generations.
The photographic and audiovisual fonds has more than 650,000 photographs, 42,000 hours of film and 5’800 hours of audio documents retracing the history of the Olympic Movement from 1896 to the present, are accessible only to image professionals, the Olympic family, students and researchers.
