Sport for all community

TAFISA Programmes

The International Olympic Committee has concluded a two-year partnership with the sport for all organisation TAFISA (The Association For International Sport for All) to support the two programmes below:

• TAFISA “Active Cities - Active Communities - Active Citizens” Programme, “Triple AC”
This programme is a global initiative aimed at “creating an active world by encouraging citizens to work together within their communities and cities to develop an attitude of active living”. It outlines the importance of encouraging steps toward active living. As stated in the programme guidebook, Triple AC is not about  telling people how to be active but rather about recognising and rewarding the bodies who have commenced or continued their way toward active living. Through this programme, TAFISA is willing to create a platform for cities and communities to learn from each other on the initiatives undertaken in the field of Sport for All.

• TAFISA “Certified Leadership Course (CLCs) in Sport for All”
This programme has been developed to train and qualify national Sport for All leaders, managers and volunteers who already work in the field of Sport for All. Several courses have already been held in Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America and Oceania, and the international network of course graduates is constantly growing.

CLCs run for 4 to 5 working days with a maximum of 30 regional participants from Sport for All bodies, National Olympic Comittees, governmental bodies and other sport related organisations.  Participants enjoy a comprehensive educational programme, as well as a sports, social and sightseeing programme. Thus it also provides an excellent opportunity to network and to present the situation of Sport for All in each country represented at the course.  There are courses on national as well as international level.

For more information about the CLCs and how to participate or host a national or international CLC, please visit www.tafisa.net.
