Dame Kelly Holmes (Great Britain) competed in three editions of the Olympic Games in athletics (800m & 1,500m), winning Olympic double gold (Athens 2004) and a bronze medal. She also won two silver medals and one bronze medal at the 1995 and 2003 IAAF World Championships. In 2004, at age 34, Dame Kelly was the oldest woman to win Olympic gold in the 800m or the 1,500m, let alone both of them. She founded the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust, which is managed in cooperation with the British Olympic Association and supports retired athletes.
