The first female skater since Sonja Henie to win consecutive Olympic titles, Katarina Witt knew how to combine her technical qualities with her artistic ones.

Each of her programmes was an event with a theme, a story, a costume and a hairstyle (West Side Story, Robin Hood, Carmen, etc.).

At the Olympic Games in 1994, although she finished only seventh, she enchanted the public with a moving tribute to Sarajevo, the city in which she won her first gold medal, which was at that time embroiled in civil war.
