Skirt worn by the flag-bearer for the Italian team (Turin 2006)

This skirt, worn by Edelfa Chiara Masciotta (Miss Italy 2005), was created by the Italian design house Moschino. It also produced more than 80 similar versions for the flag-bearers of the teams at the Opening Ceremony in Turin. However, this skirt is the only one with illumination.

This costume offers a miniature, three-dimensional representation of the city of Turin and the surrounding area. It includes a model of the Mole Antonelliana (Turin’s cathedral). In addition, the mountains, skiers and miniature trees are all reminders of the setting for these Winter Games: the Italian Alps. This costume is therefore a wonderful illustration of the identity of Turin and Piedmont.
