“Spark of Passion” skater’s outfit

©IOC

This costume is in fact a skating suit called “Spark of Passion”. It was worn by an actor on roller skates who performed in a part of the show (opening ceremony) illustrating passion, speed and progress towards the future. Furthermore, its bright red colour and the flame that can be lit on top of the skater’s helmet reinforce the message to be spread. Finally, it must be underlined that this costume was created by Lino Dainese, a specialist in motorcyclists’ equipment who had previously worked for Valentino Rossi and Max Biaggi, as well as for skier Kristian Ghedina.
