Neve and Gliz, the work of Portuguese designer Pedro Albuquerque, represent a snowball and an ice cube, two vital elements for the smooth running of the Olympic Winter Games. Each had its own character: Neve was gentle and elegant, while Gliz was lively and playful. Combining these two mascots represented the positive spirit of Italy and Olympism: friendship, enthusiasm, entertainment, design and innovation.
