In Los Angeles in 1932, Harold Wright competed in the 4x100m and finished with a creditable fourth place. His son, Lee, opted for field hockey, and took part in the Olympic Games in Tokyo, in 1964, and Montreal, in 1976.

Lee’s wife, Thelma, competed in the 1,500m at the Games in Munich (1972) and Montreal (1976), where she placed respectively fifth and eighth. For their part, the couple’s two sons, Anthony and Philip, were at the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in 2008 in Beijing, where the Canadian team came 10th.
