Claudia Bokel (Germany) is an Olympic silver medallist (Athens 2004) in fencing who competed in three editions of the Olympic Games. She also won gold at the 2001 World Championships. Since ending her competitive career, Claudia has remained committed to the world of sport, and is currently Vice-Chairwoman of the IOC Athletes’ Commission and a member of the newly formed IOC Entourage Commission. She is also successful in her professional life: With a Master of Science degree (2008) in chemistry from the Radboud University, Nijmegen (Netherlands), Claudia works nowadays as an in-house consultant at a multinational company specialised in health care, nutrition and high-tech.
